Dozens of women across the country are suing the parent company of Suave over allegations that a product they bought at their grocery store left them with bald spots.

Commercials for the Suave Infusion 30 day keratin infusion kit promises that quick transformation.
“What I got was the exact opposite of that,” said Tonja Millet, who claims the product damaged her scalp.
But, Millet says her results were disastrous.
“I just sat in the bathroom and cried and thought what am I going to do now?” Millet said.
Millet says she bought the treatment at a local retailer, hoping it would prevent frizz on an island vacation. Instead she ended up making an emergency call to her stylist.
“And she said to me ‘I don’t know how to tell you this but your hair is chemically melted'” Millet said.
This was Millet’s hair before and after. It’s been a year and a half and she’s still dealing with hair loss.
“It falls out and it continues to fall out today…much more rapidly than normal. The majority was just from all of it breaking off,” she said.
Dallas Attorney Amy Davis other pictures of the damage other women have reported. She says she’s representing 60 women including Millet, who are suing Unilever the parent company of Suave.
FOX 7 contacted Unilever for a comment on this story, but the company says it cannot comment on pending lawsuits. That lawsuit alleges not only was the product damaging, the company also failed to ensure consumers couldn’t buy the product, after the company issued a recall.
“The recall was lukewarm because they sent a letter to retailers asking them to take it off store shelves…they did nothing to make sure it made its way back to Unilever,” Davis said. “And I would say a quarter to half of the people who I represent purchased the product after the so called “recall”.
Davis also believes the product had a chemical in it that should never have been included.
“When they are advertising the product on the package in bold letters…formaldehyde free…when in fact the product is going to have formaldehyde when you use it…is just false,” Davis said.
“A product that could have this kind of product damage and this kind of chemical makeup…I don’t think it should be sold over the counter period,” Millet said.
